Rusty and his wife Linda Kay (Wyland) celebrated 48 years of marriage on April 4.Rusty was born on March 17, 1950, in Williamsport and was the son of Herman H. and Nancy I. (Vought) Hess Jr. of Loyalsock Township. He graduated from Williamsport High School in 1968 and served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking andespecially woodworking.In addition to his parents and wife, Rusty is survived by: two sons, Michael A. Hess (Michele) and Mark R. Hess (Stephanie Snyder), all of Cogan Station; three daughters, Patricia A. Wyland (Alan), of Williamsport, Cheryl Y. Hammond (James), of Williamsport, and Shkana J. LaLuz (Martin), of Allentown; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, GaryHess (Connie), of Jersey Shore, David Hess (Diane), of Montoursville, and John Hess, of Williamsport; and one sister, Patricia Ault (Paul), of Williamsport.Rusty was preceded in death by one grandson, Marcus W.C. Hess.There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, at City Alliance Church in Williamsport, followed by a life celebration at the SouthWilliamsport Moose.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the S.T.E.P. Endowment Fund, c/o S.T.E.P.
